BR-VT Water Supply Joint Stock Company strictly manages water quality
Along with the investment in construction and renovation of water treatment plants, regular maintenance, repair and replacement of equipment and machinery for production, BR-VT Water Supply Joint Stock Company (BWACO) has been investing on water quality management in order to guarantee that the water supply meets the “National standard of drinking water quality” issued together with QCVN 01: 2009 / BYT of the Ministry of Health.
- In 2002, BWACO established a Quality Management Department with the functions of :
- Managing water quality throughout the company, checking water quality from the source, through the processing stages to the supply network.
- Handling all issues in time, in order to ensure that the quality of supplied water always meets the prescribed standards.
- At the end of 2006, along with the completion and putting Ho Da Den water factory into operation, the Company has built here a laboratory that meets all standard of a high-class laboratory, analyzing physio-chemistry and microbiology. The department is capable of analyzing the majority of Group A (hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, monthly) and Group B (annual, 2-per-year analysis criteria) according to standards of the Ministry of Health on drinking water.
- All analytical equipment is regularly calibrated and checked for stability and regularity.
- All analytical methods are applied according to current Vietnamese Standards.
- All analytical criteria are checked for accuracy (trueness/recovery and repeatability) daily, as well as the calculation of the measurement uncertainty according to international standards.
- BWACO’s Water Quality Management Department has basically met the needs of analyzing, testing, evaluating water quality and meeting the goal of safe water supply. The monitoring criteria and the frequency of monitoring source water, finished water and on the water supply network comply with the “National Regulation on drinking water quality” issued together with QCVN 01: 2009 / BYT of the Ministry of Health, ensuring safe water supply.
- For water sources :
- Quality Management Department has surveyed and mapped the major polluting sources in the upstream area of the catchment of rivers and streams, as well as streams and rivers flowing into reservoirs which indirectly supply water for factories.
- Regularly check and assess the quality of water in waste sources in the upstream areas of rivers.
- Coordinate with local authorities in upstream rivers to protect water sources, detect and promptly handle cases that may cause water pollution.
- Fully analyzing water quality criteria, with the frequency according to QCVN 08: 2008 / BTNMT and QCVN 09: 2008 / BTNMT of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, for all water sources that are currently exploited by the Company for supply. Paying attention continuously to a number of fluctuations, especially pH and turbidity at large factories.
- For factory:
- Closely monitor the water treatment process and check the quality of water from the source, through the stages of flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, disinfection, to the supply network.
- Using devices to measure pH, turbidity, residual chlorine of source water, post-sedimentation, filtration, and finished water products at large factories. The quality criteria of the finished water at the factories are analyzed with frequency in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Health.
- For network level :
- Closely monitor the quality of water on the network in accordance with the Ministry of Health’s Regulations. Regularly check and assess water quality on each pipeline.
- ● Periodically sampling, analyzing and evaluating 2 basic criteria (turbidity and residual chlorine). Mapping water quality online. Check and timely handle customer requirements for water quality. Fully equipped with field analysis equipment.
